John Fischer is a Managing Director and leads the firm’s research efforts. He founded Andalusian Wealth Management, an independent RIA, in 2014 after careers in Management Consulting (McKinsey & Company) and Banking (Citigroup).
John earned his PhD in Mathematics from Yale University. His dissertation was supported by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloane Foundation and published in its entirety in the Duke Mathematical Journal. He received a BA and MA from the University of Pennsylvania as a Benjamin Franklin scholar, a distinction reserved for the top 5% of an incoming class, and was supported by a graduate fellowship (salaried) during his final two years. Working for McKinsey & Company in their New York office, he also served Asian clients while based in Tokyo. From academia, he went to Citibank and rose to the level of VP in credit risk management. As a wealth advisor, his areas of interest include quantitative and systematic strategies, as well as portfolio construction and optimization. He also focuses on the challenges of multi-generational wealth.
